So I've been working on moving to a new state and had been applying to a few Arborist/tree care positions in the area I want to move to.
A company that I really liked contacted me back and gave me a brief text “pre-interview” on indeed, which I filled out. The hiring manager got back to me the next day and scheduled a phone interview a full week out from the date of scheduling it. I thought this was kind of odd, but thought nothing of it. She said she'd call me sometime between 10-12pm, which I also thought was strange to have such a large window, but I had never done a phone interview and I liked the company so I overlooked it. (I should add that this company is in a different time zone than me, and I never asked if that time was their zone or mine (my fault on that one), so I set aside 3 hours of my day that they could potentially call me in.)
I waited a whole week, nervously excited for this interview. (I really wanted this position)
I currently work in the evening and typically wake up around 1pm for my shift, so waking up a whole 5 hours earlier than usual for my day isn't a small deal considering I still had a full 8hr shift later that night. I waited and waited, watching my phone. The three hours came and went, no call, no update, nothing. Straight ghosted.
Sure, I could of follow up with them, but if they're not going to respect my time, then why bother working for them? I get being late, but they had a full TWO HOUR window in which they could have called me, and a full WEEK beforehand that they could have given me some sort of update if they had decided to not move forward with me/selected someone else. Wack
