How do you know times are tough?
Someone like me applies for a regular position at the same level as my last job and gets offered another role instead.
I was supposed to be just handling some basic intake stuff, work with marketing to get things moving. Cool cool, I can do that. A little more responsibility, but it comes with a payrise
…now I have to hire and 'oversee' staff. In a year or so we expect to bring on people who did my old job. I'm going to be their boss too.
I see a lot of stories here about shitty bosses. Can I get some hints about what I SHOULD be doing so my new employees get that I was in their job 4 years ago and am not an insane crazy person?
