If my trainer chooses that he's going to spend his day, loading and unloading trucks, instead of telling me anything pertinent to do my job, I will follow direction accordingly. I'm very confused as to how I'm supposed to be trained when I am not allowed to see the tickets for the trucks I'm supposed to load.
I have not had an opportunity to effect change, or take ownership of the warehouse while the pace of work is dictated to me, according to my supervisor's whims, so he can make it look like I'm not working. I've seen petty gamesmanship before, but never at such a low level. It's just sad, and uncomfortable to have to work with someone who clearly has zero understanding of the value of work. I do not understand why we cannot communicate any information necessary to fulfill goals, as I have tried and failed to find any common ground.
Unfortunately Carlton thinks he's better than I am. Perhaps he is. I'm nothing special. But i'm not a sixty year old man trying to prove something, to nobody at t he expense of the company, just to get overtime, to cover bills. Because he always is working a hustle, and I don't have time for that.
this point I just want to run my own race. He has proven himself to be unwilling to train me. I would have been happy to take over the warehouse for the last two weeks,especially when things were quiet and in transition. Unfortunately, this has proven to not be the case. I've had very little time on the forklift, as it has become his seat. I'm not new to eccentric contractors, I have a soft spot in my heart for them – my dad is one. I've worked for several. If you need to have one of them vouch for my work, I am happy to provide references.
It is time for him to spread his own wings, and for us both to have an opportunity to sink or swim independently. I do not anchor my boat on his tide predictions. I will not place my sail on his boat, as Carlton has stated, he has nothing to do with him, as he has nothing to do with me. I do not wish to waste any more time playing games. I will go about my day, avoiding conflict and unnecessary damage to company property. I am willing, capable, and able to work, but I have been handicapped. Being a golfer, I found this cute for a time. At this point, I'd like the opportunity to do the job we discussed, as we discussed it, without tortious interference with contract1.
