Lately at work full time employees have been getting 1-3 six hour shifts because our “hours are being cut” and part time employees were starting to not be scheduled at all. Well, one of the top people at my store is having a knee surgery and one of the other bosses said that because of this woman being out of work, every full time employee will now have a five day work week with 8 hours, and part time can get 3-4 days with 6-8 hour shifts as well. How is this even fucking possible?? One woman being gone let’s everyone get the hours they should’ve had in the first place. Is this legal?? How can she take so many hours when everyone else can’t even make ends meet with what they’re given and have to get other jobs?? What should I do in a situation like this and is there anything that even can be done when I know the other bosses give themselves the best shifts with good hours too while everyone else gets their scraps. It’s not fair and it doesn’t seem like something they should be getting away with.
