One of my previous jobs scheduled their clubs and sports DURING work hours, which meant nobody could actually do them

More specifically, they didn't have any allowance for their own employees to shift their schedule around to accommodate the club or sport. No, I don't mean “Work fewer hours” I mean “The same total number of actual work hours, but with a bigger gap around lunch (which was an unpaid lunch break) so you can do the club/sport” I mean, why couldn't they have the club or sport take place after work or on the weekend? Surely the company must have access to it's own schedule in some shape or form.
