I work at a hardware store. Tomorrow I am finally having my one year review. I currently make $11 hr. I am in receiving/inventory/stock management. (I am not a manager, but i have told by my manager that it is 'my department' but I think that is just something she says to make it sound important)
So when we have deliveries, i check them in, count them, i handle returns, and contact corporate/warehouses when there are issues, etc…
I live in PA. $11 is like minimum wage, honestly. I do have insurance through my work which is great, but if they do not give me more than a $1 increase tomorrow, I will be finding a new job.
Living paycheck to paycheck is unacceptable. With inflation it is hard to live comfortably this way.
$1 still isn't enough, but less that that would be so insulting.
And advice? What I should say or 'negotiate' a higher pay?
(I started there in April 2021, and am now just having my review AFTER I told my manager that we needed to get the ball rolling)
