Only 5.5 hours between work shifts?

So my boyfriend works retail and he worked tonight from 6:00pm-10:30pm (closing). His original shift for tomorrow started at 4:30pm, and when he went in tonight his manager told him that he changed his shift to the 4:00am shift. My boyfriend doesn’t really care because he prefers stocking in the morning over working register, but he is annoyed at the last minute change and the fact that he’s now getting home at 10:50pm and then waking up for work at 3:30am. Only a few hours between his shifts. Also the fact they didn’t ask him before making the change, he wouldn’t have even seen the adjustment if he didn’t go check the schedule before he left. I’m not sure if there are any laws about minimum time between work shifts in Georgia, but I just wanted to rant a little because of how ridiculous it seems to me. Does anyone…

His assistant manager said that she was going to talk to the scheduling manager so at least this shouldn’t happen again.
