My job isn't bad compared to most and they're letting me take time off for COVID. But the company only gives 5 sick days per year and doesn't allow half days. I marked 2 hours as sick when I had a 39C fever and I won't be paid for that day because I already exceeded my 5 days due to COVID vaccine side effects and ER visits. Before the pandemic, everyone had to come in to work no matter how sick and disease was rampant.
Just a reminder that even “nice” companies are still shitty for not allowing their employees to be sick. I guess I'm trading my health for my paycheck.
