I got a call from a recruiter today saying they'd seen my resume blah blah blah. I know whatever resume they saw is old because I haven't publicly posted my resume in years. But OK. I'll listen.
The good: They started out by saying it was a hybrid role with no chance of being fully remote. Excellent. They're learning. This is a deal breaker for me for Reasons but I wanted to know a bit more.
The bad: They wanted to know my salary expectations rather than tell me what the range was.
This is where I confirmed it was not going to be fully remote and therefore unsuitable for me right now. We ended the call on pleasant terms.
The recruiter commented that not being fully remote is cutting deep into the qualified candidate pool, which is why they led with the hybrid part. So it seems part of the message is getting through at least. They still have to learn about disclosing pay but we can hope.
