Opinions wanted – Look for a new job now or just milk them for every dollar until the ax drops or things settle down?

So I started a new job about a year ago with what turned out to be the worst managed company I have ever worked for. The division I was hired into was dissolved within a week of me arriving, so I was moved to a new one. My boss was then fired so the company shifted me to yet another group. So I started a new job about a year ago with what turned out to be the worst managed company I have ever worked for.

Six months later the President resigns, and the CEO is fired. It seems they have at least formed some new plan because I know from a trusted source that layoffs will begin on Friday for what will be a reorg. It appears I’m safe, but I don’t know if I’ll be gone in a month or if my job is “safe” for the next 20 years. It could honestly go either way. Throughout the chaos I’ve basically been collecting a six figure salary in a position that had been flying under the radar, so I haven’t really had much to do.

So, should I error on the side of caution and start looking for a new job, or do I keep a low profile and milk them for every dollar I can until they either let me go or things settle down ?
