That’s it.
I've been a phlebotomist for 4 years and currently make 40k, but some of that is the mandatory overtime I work. My salary without it is 37k. I also donate my plasma twice a week for grocery money, so all and all I sit on 42k a year. I'm a sole provider for myself — no one but me in my household. For me to get by, I need a wage of 42k a year. And this really isn't giving me any room for savings or emergencies, but it'll get me by. I need out of healthcare. It's killing me. The patients, the management, the workload, all of it. I'm looking at my options outside of the field but I absolutely cannot take a pay cut. I also can't afford college because…well, read the above. The only reason I got my education for phlebotomy was because at the time I…
So to start I’m in an at Will state. I’ve been looking for a job did the interview on Thursday started on Friday I came in for a full 8 hours did all the paperwork started learning the job. I get a text today from the guy that hired me that they would like for me at actually start In early may. I have no clue how to respond. They say it because of their office space. But their main room of their office space is mostly empty besides the desk I was working at. If anyone has advice on how to respond I’d appreciate it. Im so frustrated because I took this job to make money I can’t afford to be I paid for a month. Especially when I have to move in June.
This made me sad.
If you aren't telling them why you're not coming back you're just perpetuating their bad ethics in favor of your own feel goods. Fuck this “i blocked their numbers and didn't say anything to them”. It's chicken shit BS. Tell the company off. Make them fully aware people aren't going to stand for this shit anymore. Nothing will change if people keep up like this.
Beware of the scummy recruiters
I'll start apologies about the length of this post and some may think this is unbelievable, genuinely I wouldnt believe it if i hadn't experienced it, but it's absolutely my first experience in the working world and warning to those that may go that route So I thought I'd share a story from a few years ago when I got a call for a contracting role a couple of months after uni I jumped at the opportunity as the pay was 40 an hour but I had to move across the country to work, it was tough leaving all my friends but I thought it was a good opportunity After multiple emails confirming the pay, hours when I start etc I move, that's when shit started as the minute they knew I had moved they bait and switched me telling me the employer refused the price and they could only…
i walked out 10 minutes into my shift
I used to work for this local consulting firm. They told me I owe them money for expenses I used for lunch. They said cut them a check for 13 dollars lol so I cut them check. I thought something didn’t feel right so I did calculation with all the payslips and all deposits I got. Guess what, they owed me money actually. 49 dollars. When I was working for them, they said I should get staffed on projects when managers want to. Otherwise, that’s “not flexible“ When I told them I leave, they asked me to stay longer until they find replacement. LOL Why not you guys fucking be flexible? This company was worst company I ever work for, I regret working here. Really shady business. Damn
