Just had a monthly review and was shown and told I am doing awesome. Boss asked me what he could do to help in any way…I asked for more money. He said sure let me see what I can do. Then literally tells me a story of when he went from normal employee to manager and was not getting paid enough. He got a part time job because he needed the money. Did this for a few months missed some work from the full time and his boss gave him a raise to keep him from working the part time…..then said a part time job helped me(boss) out, it might for you too. Hello! I’m an anonymous philanthropist seeking to support Jeff Bezos’ downtrodden employees. I’m looking for ideas as to what I can do for them and to help draw attention to their heinous working conditions and the man responsible. Right now I’m thinking of various grants helping people start their own businesses, prepaid grocery cards, housing grants, paying daycare tuition…funding union efforts has also been suggested to me. Any other ideas? I’m prepared to underwrite the gifts myself but maybe if the event gathers enough attention and support, “AWWW…” can expand its scope. Any ideas for really impactful ways to give? I was imagining a way to process giving to people online, but was also considering onsite events. I work as a software developer for an alright manager, however, the CEO is a micromanager. Two years ago a project had a rough start due to requirements gathering being viewed as bothering the customers. The CEO has overruled any raise based on the rough start from two years ago. Since then, I've written several mission critical applications using programming languages, frameworks and techn that only I know. I have now begun to seriously interview for positions at different companies for more money. I should also add that I have no intention of accepting any counter offers or attend an exit interview. The CEO is known to lash out at anyone around, which has cost the department and company 50% of its employees on a year to year basis. I work at a tech repair shop with me being the only microsoldering tech And its like its half repair and half customer service. Long story short. All the techs are leaving, our lead tech found another job and the store manager is finding work. Our district manager is freaking out as we're the most profitable in our district. He pulled the “no one wants to work” card. Bro it's not that no one wants to work. no one want to work for 14 bucks for skilled labor. The store manager makes 20 to deal with customers trying to fight him because we can't fix their wood-chipped phone.
