Not sure if this goes here and certain this will be controversial, but…. We are caught in this con where we must subsidize the gap in bad pay and benefits for these workers because employers have exploited our guilt. So employers get off with more profit and we get stuck. Then when we try and change it, who defends it? Servers like this… Look, I want EVERYONE to be able to make a decent living, part of that is me not having to pay extra to subsidize you making $90/hr when the employer should be paying you $25/hr with full benefits. I need my money as well. Why should I voluntarily throw more away while your employer profits? We have to take a GOOD hard look at how we feel about tipping here. Hi! Just thought this was absurd as i've been following The Dodo's union fight for a couple of years now. They first ratified their contract in 2018 under Group Nine Media, who was acquired by Vox in 2022. My understanding of the situation is that Vox is not going to raise the Dodo Unit's pay to parity with the other Units (Thrillist, Vox News, etc…), Vox is not covering a pay gap that will occur when transitioning onto Vox's systems, and Vox is not compensating the employee's for any banked PTO time they will lose when moving to Vox's unlimited PTO. Im really surprised this isn't getting more coverage. Am I nuts or is this gross?

Supposed to be funny but is Depressing
I work as a receptionist in a medical office. There were 3 of us. Yesterday, he fired the other two and now it's just me. I was working part time because I'm in school and now he wants me to work full time to cover for them. I want to quit because the office was already a mess and now all the responsibility and stress is going to fall on me.
The funny part is… I'm correct, I was born condemned, just a Deus Ex Machina to change the course of my life, I started to be more religious and have less faith in myself, and more faith in God. waiting for divine intervention
