So, I've just called in sick for two days and my employeer wished me to get well soon. IN the same message however, I was offered to work on a couple of things from home “if I'd like to” and we'd be handling it as a normal work day. (I am from germany, so sick days are paid anyways by our health insurence). It's not like there's other things in life than that 9-5 to which I need to commute a total of 3 hours 5 times a week, because my employeer doesn't like, and won't allow me to do, home office. “Sure thing boss, I'd love to do nothing but whatever your dumb ass wishes for each and every day. I have no hopes and dreams of my own anyway” It's not that I hate my job, but there's a point where I gotta say, that my own life's…
Boss is incommunicado
Soo 3 or 4 months ago I got a new boss at work. It's not been good. Every. Single. Thing. I have brought to him, like “we need oil” or “drivers are leaving stuff in the trucks for me, I don't appreciate it” he has done absolutely nothing with. 9.5 times out of 10 I text him, I get no response at all. Calls are ignored. I lost my patience a month or so ago with the drivers leaving stuff thing. I moved what was left in the truck in front of his office. That seemed to send the message loud and clear to everyone that they need to empty the trucks. At that time, I spoke to my bosses boss. I sent him a letter via text detailing the communication issues and spoke to him for 25 minutes. His response was “we'll see where he wants to take his…
Not in the French revolution kind of way, though. More like how America got out of the great depression: WW2. I mean, that Ukraine Vs Russia conflict is looking real promising. Maybe war will be the way out of this shitty economic situation, again. For the second time now.
The hardest thing to do…
Silent quit is not as easy as people believe, silent quit means to switch your mind from “I can work hard as I love my job or wants to get promoted” to “will work what I'm paid for or i don't care if promoted or not” People who is used to work harder will find way harder to stop working at this speed, and of course companies will notice when the guy/girl who used to do the work of 3 suddenly is just doing what they were hired to do and nothing more. But the benefits are impressive, when you manage to switch your mind the stress will go down, also you won't care if the company is going down as long as you get your paycheck, and you will be able to negotiate more in case they ask you to do more work again. Worst case scenario: “you won't…
Anyone else hate this as much as I do?
I HATE that your immediate boss and your boss's boss think it's okay to treat you poorly. Are assholes to you. Treat you like you're dumb or lazy. Treat you like kids even though you're a grown adult. Cuss at you. Are smartasses. Raise their voice to you. Embarrass you in front of your coworkers. Pretty much disrespect you in any kind of way. But the moment you treat your boss how they treat you, you're immediately fired, get a write-up or get sent home. WTF?!?! Thankfully not every boss is a bad boss. Wished there were more good bosses than bad ones.
Speak with you wallets. They know you're not completely broke, because we keep buying their stuff. Wages aren't going to go up until employers really feel people have no discretionary income left to spend on their goods and services. Stop. Buying. Stuff you don't need.
Almost 10k upvotes… people are sick
“Company can’t afford it”
I work in a company in Europe. I get paid 1.000/month. CFO gets paid 10 million/year. I asked my manager for a raise. He said that at this point with the war and recession “the company can't afford it”. That's it. I just wanted to share it.
