Hey friends, I have been part of this sub for a while, but have a new account now. I'm in a dilemma and need some input, especially because I'm at a loss for what to do. I started my current job at the end of last year and had a lot of optimism going into this new workspace from my previous one. I was told everything I wanted to hear, and that I would be in the role of marketing assistant. The job description outlined that I would be creating content and managing one company's social media platforms, with eventual photography and videography roles, but not for at least a year after employment. I'm just a few months in now, and I'm not running one, but two social media accounts on my own without any other employee to help me. I am already doing photography and videography using my own…
If you have social anxiety or some other disability you have the right to receive a reasonable accommodation such as working from home. The requirement is that you can still perform all major job tasks. Just tell your boss that you're requesting to work from home as an accomodation un the Americans with Disabilities Act. Have your doctor write a letter stating that you require the accomodation.
I am so fucking fed up of corporations. My partners work has scheduled a meeting to discuss her sickness and has booked it with 4 days notice for a day that she is not available. When she has told them that it's too short notice and needs to reschedule, rather than just do so like a reasonable person her manger has instead said she is contracted to work those hours and therefore he feels it's reasonable and won't be moving it. She has been signed off sick by her doctor for over 3 years. She doesn't get paid sick leave. And yet the company expects her to keep the 16 hours a week she used to work free for them, every week, with no financial compensation just in case they randomly want to discuss her mental health. This is all made worse by the fact that the reason she can't…

INTERVIEWS WANTED!! Do you have a crazy story about your workplace? Anything having to do with toxic workplaces, mistreatment of employees, corrupt corporate culture, unsafe working conditions, etc. My new podcast, NOT SAFE AT WORK, is interview style. My goal is to expose intolerable working conditions and spread awareness about how common this is, and the very serious negative consequences a mismanaged place can have, both physically and mentally. I will record our chat on zoom (audio only), and then edit you telling your story later with me doing some narration and commentary. I also will keep both you and your company anonymous (unless you don’t want to be!). What's your experience and who do you hold responsible? How has your experience affected both your physical and mental health, and your life in general? Think about some of these questions as you tell your story. And if you have any…
I’m in quality, measuring parts and writing reports. A few months back, I had my first ever mistake that, while easily rectified, caused my boss to flip out and write me up. Since then, he’s been getting more and more on my ass about minor things and it’s causing me to get nervous about even performing my job. Yesterday, I had my performance review and he said I’ve been making a lot of mistakes and I pointed out the only mistake I made was the one from months ago. Apparently, he considers any time the data is analyzed and I have to fix one or 2 data points (which takes 5 minutes max) to be a mistake. The thing is, if the numbers are good, you aren’t going to think much about it until it gets thrown in the analyzer app. It’s not my fault if the highest number is…
Need Advise on cruel employer
So I quit yesterday from my job as a Direct Support Professional (caregiver) cause my shitty employer has been a dick to me this last couple days threatening me that he’s the “District Manager” like we’re suppose to kneel for him. He’s the district manager for two and more mentally disabled homes in the central coast of California. The one I worked for was for a children’s group home, the other home nearby is 20miles away that’s an Adult Residential Facility. Either way , on Saturday 02/05/2022 around 1pm PT. I gave him a phone call discussing my schedule cause he changed it all of a sudden and without notice to the adult residential facility knowing that I was targeted there before by two of the female residents for false accusation so I got switched to children’s home along with female and male staff. Over the phone call he tells…
