So I quit the job but basically, we created automated systems and facilities the likes of which you can see anywhere online. The part I don't think people are catching on about is that new facilities are quietly created every day with much more automation than the existing facility. When fully automated, they call it a “lights out” facility because they turn the lights off due to there being no workers. These new facilities open up, take over the work of the old facility (and then some) and the old places close. Everyone is fired from the old facility, unionized or not. THIS is what terrifies me. I still believe Unions have a place in the workforce but as nobody works at the “lights out” facilities to tell the tale, they're increasing in numbers and will inevitably replace all our jobs. What do we do about this? Politicians are all…
The look on the young woman's face said it all. I could see actual fear in her eyes. I bought gas at Fred Meyer's gas station in Oregon, went to go give the woman a tip. She LITERALLY jumped away from me, throwing her hands back in the air like something was about to hurt her when I held out 2 FUCKING DOLLARS. Politely rejected the tip saying they would fire her if she accepted, was very adamant and serious. Fuck you Kroger really? We are one of the last few states that has a gas attendant, and you won't let them accept tips. You fucking suck. Spread the word
Customer Rage @ Kroger’s
The endless humiliations of working in Kroger's store don't just start with cutting the hours for the workers but extend to the way the customers are reacting to the empty shelves and higher prices. Today I had a customer come up to me and ask why there were so few workers in the store. The pharmacy was not opened for posted hours, the shelves were bare in many areas, and the deli was closed. A customer decided that now was the time to act and questioned me about the staffing problems. When I told them that Kroger's could not find anyone to work they simple said this to me, “if no one wants to work anymore, then you should be working harder!” My jaw dropped… how could anyone say that to a person making minimum wage? This is exactly why no one wants to work anymore, the customers make the…
Just spotted at a Buffalo Wild Wings.
How dare I ask what the pay would be….
What’s going on in this sub with all the posts equating Russia and the US. “American Oligarchs” is not a term that has been touted about here until the last few days. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that all of this is happening to prop up Putin’s grossly unjustified war in Ukraine. Commenting about rich jerks fits fine to the sub but calling out rich jerks from one country and comparing them to the rich jerks of another is really just false equivalence to encourage people to be okay with Putin killing Ukrainian children. The poor and working class always suffer the worst during war. Why isn’t there more calls for unity and peace and so many comparisons of this rich jerk to that rich jerk? Is this sub actually just a Russian PsyOp?
