I have tried every normal route to resolve this. But now the gloves are off and I am naming names. A while back I worked an incredible 55+ hours per week during the preChristmas season and right up to New Years for this company. The pay was terrible, but i took the job to be near my mother (i had a house in another province) who was starting to be unwell. I busted my butt at this job and often got letters of thanks from the office of the president, and the occasional prize (low dollar value, but recognition) for taking charge of the calls. The culture there was like high school. The Team Leads thought they were demogods.. and there was rampant favouritism – but I didn't care, I just worked and worked everyday, in case I'd have to leave. The bonuses spoken about in HR didn't materialize but…

Hope they find out that ambition is measured by the wages and benefits we deserve, not those that are offered

I always hear stuff about overwork and wages that are barely legal, if legal at all. Why can’t we honestly just stop the whole fast food thing in general??? The whole thing about fast food is that it’s ‘fast and cheap’ but the poor lads and lasses that work in these establishments have to take on all of that ‘fast and cheap’ labour. It’s always ‘go faster’, ‘hurry up’, etc but we’re only human, we don’t have enough energy to do all this for 30+ hours a week and get paid next to nothing. Furthermore, the people we serve are hungry and usually disgruntled, the poor people working these jobs probably don’t have the energy to put up with all that at this point. I’m honestly not sure why fast food is so cheap, these workers should be getting paid enough to compensate what they have to go through during…

Don't stay where you don't want to. Lots of places to work that will value you. Make that move and don't look back

Any millennials with pensions? Just curious.
