What are solutions to the oversaturation of applications. I seen posts of 300 people competing for the same job ? W Was it ever this bad? HR gets paid to handle all these applications but 299 people will get nothing.
So I have been working for 1 year now and it's my first ever job, but it's been absolute garbage and I'm struggling to contain my anger at the bullshit they keep pulling first of all is the shifts that they keep giving me, when I started it wasn't so bad, like 3-4 days a week all at 12 hours, but then after the third week I got my schedule filled to the brim with 12 hours every day of the week and my boss would give me sudden unpaid overtime ranging from 2 more hours and more, the worst part would be that she would sometimes give even more so I could help with bingo, not even joking, at this point I was basically working almost as much as both my parents combined, it really sucks that she just does this with no warning or hints at all and…
Loyalty to a company doesn’t mean shit.
My aunt (who's like a second mother to me) has worked for one of the country's leading insurance companies for 30 years. She had her evaluation today and is getting a whopping $100.00 bonus and a whopping $0.20 raise (minimum wage just increased by $0.60). I said she should look at retiring because thats BS and can't afford to just quit but shes 10 years too young to take regular retirement and she doesn't qualify for early retirement because of some stupid rule.
Are the people themselves. When pushed, “we” turn into “I”. People will complain about wrong work culture and then they go and order off amazon. Its nice to have comfort, but moment you have comfort on expense of somebody else (usually minorities who are exploited the most), youre no better than the man. And its simple really 1) unionize 2) boycott shitty employers 3) push legislators to change work laws. Lets be realistic. Everyone will have to work based on their skills and recieve based on their needs only if people all band up together. Not try to play this rigged system, but changing it instead.
Billion minds some new company in OK…So maybe I'm interpreting it wrong, but the goal of this new company seems to be assisting people in learning to love their jobs. While learning to better manage their personal time…nothing about pay increase or better working conditions, it seems to me they are only trying to help the businesses by trying to “rewire” everyone's way of thinking to continue the way it's been for so long. Please tell me I'm reading this place wrong because it seriously seems like another wall being thrown together to stop the “Great resignation.” With zero real benefits to the working people. I dunno if I can drop a link like this, if I need to remove just let me know. I'm a long-time lurker, never really posted before, but this seemed to me to be something that should be brought up. https://billionminds.com/
I just want to leave
I posted here last Tuesday (Tuesday for my country) I posted about how i wanted to quit and you guys gave me the push to do it. So i had a conversation and made it very clear that i wanted to quit and said “I'm giving in my two weeks notice” so i made it pretty clear unfortunately i forgot that in my contract it has to be written notice. My boss messaged me today and said “So we actually need written notice if you decide to move forward with it” So now after 5 days i have to wait another 2 weeks until i can leave. How the hell do i get out of that one. I hate it so much and am annoyed she decided to wait another 5 days to tell me that. I know why she decided to wait 5 days, it's because she wants me…
Sorry for the word vomit but I have been scatterbrained trying to collect my thoughts and see about how to get better pay. My wife recommended posting here to collect my thoughts and get advice. I started working with this company 7 years ago. At the time I was a “Technical Support Representative” in a Texas only company. In that time I was converted into a “Billing and Technical Care Specialist”. Then it was a “Customer Care Representative”. Now I am a “Customer Experience Advocate.” Basically call center work. I was technical support, tech and billing, and then tech and billing and retention. Now I have to do tech, billing, sales, and retention. Each change was accompanied by more work with “an increased chance of commission based on quality script performance among the cumulative call floor.” This means that I have an increase in potential commision, however it is at…
I've seen many arguments about Nordic countries doing well in certian areas and I've heard a lot about what isn't right there as well. What I don't hear a lot about is Japan and what they are doing right or wrong. Besides extreme working conditions/high suicide rate and very small living spaces, I know very little on their workings. I just thought about this while reminiscing my time there and how everyone seemed rather happy and worked together on everything. I always wished I could live in that peaceful place.
The protest that will take down America.
There have been tons of protests recent years. I think in the near future there will be one so large that America will come to a halt and either the government will act and fighting will start, or something will be done to address the protesters grievances. The protests will be one or more about wages, health care, taxes, government priorities when it comes to funding and what taxes are spent on, housing costs, food costs, goods costs, corruption within the government, college costs. Most likely a combo of all. Every day people have less and less to lose.
