They Wanted Me to Beg
Started a job at the coordinator level, realized three months in that the job that they were expecting performance at a manager level. I bring this up to my supervisor and they say that I am on a fast track for a promotion to the manager position. I feel surprised and happy that they basically read my mind. Two months later I make the formal request for the promotion. Manager says they will start the process. I asked a couple times about the process, they gave me a couple updates. After two months there's no progress. I get told that I will have to wait a year to get the promotion due to internal policies. That week I get hit up by a recruiter on LinkedIn which offers me the promotion level position, fully remote and double pay. I go through the interview process and get the job. Manager says…
This is literllay discrimination.
Too many people are eager to leave
I just started (and ended) a new job. It was a for a lot of reasons, not all of which are anti work, just that the job didn’t fit me and my needs. The one thing that I keep thinking about those is that there was multiple people looking to be promoted but for all of them it was basically a promote me, or I’m gone mentality. At the same time they were turning around and telling me the typical BS of “its a wonderful place and we’re all best friends and family and I’ll never leave” blah blah blah. Like just be honest with me, I’d rather know the downsides and shit sides of a business before make a big commitment there.
Interviewer getting head(?)
I don't know if I should be impressed or grossed out but I'm interviewing via phone calls. As I ask his availability the dude is so grumbly like he just woke up and whispers “They can't here you.” I snort laugh and he seems to be annoyed after that. I didn't mean to laugh but if you're that ballsy and I CAN hear them on the other side. Would you do this? Edit: I get paid minwage and thought I would share a laugh by sharing what I go through sometimes.
Need advice please
Hello there Long story short, I was descriminated at work in the past few months, and when I raised a formal greivence to HR, in order to protect their interests they conducted a very lousy investigation and deemed that my claims of descrimination (disability and racial) does not have solid basis so they are dismissing it. I know exactly what has went down and that 3 employees have colluded against me in this entire case. I am thinking of suing them through a proper lawyer now, but I have not yet decided. Before I do so I want to give these 3 employees same stress they have given me in the past few months, hence I want to send them an email right before leaving, telling them i am suing the compnay for descrimination. My question is that can I write this email to them, i.e. can they SUE ME…
Can we all please talk about Thorium
I know this topic isn't entirely related to antiwork but I seriously believe it should at least be discussed by its members, so mods please let this one run. I recently dug up an old paper I scribbled on in 9th grade (I'm currently 23 so this was around 2014 or 2015 and it was the periodic symbol for thorium and under it I wrote “what they don't want you to know about”. So today I sat down and went down the YouTube rabbit hole and did some Google searching. I remember for years after that I'd see videos here and there “debunking” thorium and it's potential for energy. Now I'm finding out that China and Russia have been stockpiling the element since like 2012 and its nearly impossible to find any for purchase. It's a waste material of most commercial mining and was left as waste for decades. Scientists…
Progress or not?
