When your contract stated “any other adhoc work assigned to you”? A colleague mentioned that it is wrong to reject since your superior ask you to do.
UK people!
Hi everyone! Is there anyone else struggling with jobs right now? I'm applying basically for whatever job and I'm getting either ghosted or rejected. My CV is up to date, 8+yrs of experience in customer service with also higher duties, team leading.. I speak 3 languages but the only job I get is paid 17/18k per year, and only fast paced shitty call centre on the phone. Why on earth should I accept the lower offer with lower position? Also so many recruiters are inexperienced, they don't tell you conditions and salary of you don't reply on the phone and it's getting really frustrating. Every week I am receiving emails stating “your CV it's a great match” but you can't know what's about unless you jump on a 1h zoom meeting. I'm applying also for entry level positions like Costa caffe.. but never heard anything from them. What's going on?…
Working with remote Ukrainian colleagues
I have been working remotely with a lot of Ukrainian colleagues and at least the company I work for is doing the minimum thing of giving them time off to get their families out of harms way, but it is still so surreal. Yesterday one of them showed up to a remote meeting and today as well. It is pretty insane for them to even still come in and join the meeting. She said she had time to move away from major cities and bring her family so she had some time to work. I really hope this is just a distraction for her and she does not feel obligated to work. The guy said, he could not leave the country because they blocked the borders for men 18-55. We haven't heard anything from 2 Ukrainian co-workers. It is so weird to sit here and think that the people you…

Boss said we all have mandatory overtime
I work in a warehouse, only for about a week now. Seems to be decent. Nice people. So we're heading to lunch and the shift leader screams to everyone “mandatory overtime this Saturday” and everyone's like ughhh. I asked what would happen if we didn't come in, because it's literally just A WHOLE OTHER SHIFT, and a snowstorm is coming. They say, “you'll be reprimanded. It'll probably happen again next week too.” I'm not risking my wellbeing for overtime. I went to lunch, and talked to some coworkers about it and everyone is aggrevated. It's a Mon-Fri full time/40hr week job, so all we get off are the weekends. The hours are very odd, so it's hard to see family and friends or make appointments. Adding an extra day would be terrible. On top of that, some people have other jobs and can't do the mandatory overtime and risk being…
Rolling 4 day work week
Instead of saying we should have 1 more day off as in 4+3 we could more easily implement a rolling 4+2 work week. It would almost be as much work as 5+2: 4 work days X 5 weeks = 20 2 days off x 5 = 10 vs 5 work days X 4 = 20 2 days off X 4 = 8
Meager bonus
We just received our STI (yearly bonus) And it’s funny how they think that we should or even have to say thank you for this meager bonus. For back story I work Night Shift and our turn over has been ridiculous. I work some crazy hours sometime to cover shifts all this to have freaking 5 percent bonus. Dude I missed Xmas thanksgiving New Years 4th July, my bday, kids bday family events for the past year to have 5 percent bonus. I have not had a singe vacation in the last 8/9 months I take days off but those are my weekends. I called in once for family emergency.. I’m super disappointed but no wonder nobody gives more
