So I've been seeing a lot of posts about different ways people are quitting their jobs. I thought I'd share my favorite experience. I worked for a 24 hour burger delivery place while going to cosmetology school. Before I was hired I had made clear to the manager that my school came first. I would only be in school for a year and made it very clear school came first. If they made me choose between my future career and this job, I was obviously picking my career. Management was more than okay with it and loved that I was driven to pursue a career. This whole place was a shit show. Fast forward a couple months and the Assistant manager got fired for smoking meth in a company delivery vehicle and a week or two later the general manager quit because of blatant disrespect from the district manager. So…
All the while each person you interview with hasn't read your resume so you'll have the repeat the same information to all of them. Good luck finding a good candidate who isn't snatched up by another company in the meantime!
I politely let my boss know that if I don’t feel comfortable driving in the weather in the future, I WILL work from home even if it means being formally reprimanded. He said “yeah you probably would be.” Grocery stores were closed. Why tf was our office even open? Let’s see if you’re willing to lose employees over this stupid policy.
At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for canceling debts has been proclaimed. Deuteronomy 15:1-2 NIV
I had a recruiter reach out for a role that was along the lines of what I currently do, but more focused in a single area requiring a higher level of expertise. Recruiter did the whole 'we have a competitive compensation package and consistently benchmark across the industry' bullshit. Offer comes in and it's a step down in title and 30% less than I currently make. Hiring manager is now upset with me for 'wasting the companies time' and I 'should have been upfront about my pay expectations'. Why is this on me? I didn't approach you you fucking buffoon. TLDR: Fuck recruiters.
That’s a lot of unpaid work time
If this doesn’t belong here, my apologies. I’ve spent over fifteen hours trying to speak to someone at Wells Fargo who can help me with a claim that would release $1,600 to me. I started this process in December. They took the money and ran. Who have you been on hold with recently? It’s an undo burden placed upon customers after our tax dollars have already bailed them out of this crisis. It’s criminal. The next time you’re on hold for unreasonable amount of time, please file a complaint with your states AG. Not many people have this kind of time to track down services these businesses are advertising as easily available.
