I'm not a great story teller and even worse writer so, bare with me.
I wrote about this yesterday but on the panda express Reddit page. Thurs morning I was opening the store and saw a guy and girl walk out from our dumpster. I thought it was weird so I commented on the headset that I saw them. My shift lead, SL in training and another FOH employee went to go check it out. They found what appeared to be a bunch of newer clothes in a Walmart shopping cart (our store is next to one). They then proceed to take the shopping cart over to the donation bin and started throwing the stuff in. I was horrified. They were laughing and carrying on like it was the funniest thing in the world. They came back and said it was bedding and pillows and clothes. I told them she was probably homeless and they just dumped her entire life in there.
The girl came back about 30 min later. She started frantically pulling things out of the donation bin but it was too deep and she couldn't grab the majority. She sat down and sobbed. I asked if I could bring her a drink and was told no. I went to the bathroom, threw up, and cried for ten minutes.
My coworkers sat there and laughed at her attempting to get her things. Thankfully, the truck that picks up the donations came and she was able to explain and get her stuff back. But you guys, they laughed the whole time. At her misfortune. I'm sick. I called out today. I can't bring myself to face them. One of them (the shift lead) is my FUCKING ROOMMATE. I already called corp, but they don't care. Said it was an Ecosure violation. Fuck man, what do I do??? I'd rather get fired than quit so I can collect unemployment…. How do I handle this? It was on my GM's say so. Please help.
