This was a load of fun to deal with.
This started with me getting sick at work. Lethargic as hell, trouble keeping up and eventually came around to throwing my guts up by midday. Told my boss about this and I was somewhat reluctantly sent home.
I tired to be as good about this as I could be in terms of work standard. I texted my bosses later telling them I had a doctors appointment in a few days for a check up and before I went to bed that night I updated him again saying I felt awful and I wouldn’t be in the next day.
When morning came I was woken up by a bang on the window. It’s the police. I came out and asked what was going on. They had told me my parents had called worried where I was. Apparently my work had called them when I didn’t answer my phone, and when I didn’t answer their calls they called the police.
I had 3 missed calls from work and 6 from my parents with a lot of other texts.
What had happened was when I didn’t show up my work called the next of kin to ask where I was. I don’t live with them so they didn’t know. According to my dad my boss was panicked and worried over the phone which gave them the impression something was very wrong. But he neglected to mention that I was sick at all.
I never considered my boss to be that kind of asshole but make one call out and this shit happens.
