This is not about me but I am very angry on the situation:
Here is the story: Upstate NY: a friend of mine got a traveler nurse job in the beginning of the year. After 4 months was told that the position is being “reconsidered” (the contract ends at the end of August) and the contract is terminated, however the hospital is generous enough to offer her a nurse position for $22/h. My indignation is the pay!!! I understand the situation that traveler nurses are overpaid, but if you have a contract signed you can't just stop it, just because you want to stop it. Then the new position offer: A NURSE to get $22 / h when Target is paying $22 to a person working on the receiving dock (happen to know a 19 years old guy working for Target). What in the world is going on? How can you live on this money (talking about home, family, car payments, etc.)
