Hey all, apologies in advance if this is the wrong sub. I'm planning to leave my job this upcoming Friday with no notice (it's HEAVILY toxic, racist, misogynistic, and homophobic and I know my life would be made even more miserable should I give notice, so I'm not going to).
Friday also happens to be the end of the pay period so my “last paycheck” will be automatically deposited that same day. I used all my accrued PTO but I'm negative about (24) hours of sick time.
Under our PTO policy, I get (24) hours of paid sick time per year and (80) hours of general PTO. Under law, will I have to pay back that sick time once they find out I'm gone? I'm in CA for what it's worth.
