I'm genuinely curious as to what the future of r/antiwork is going to be. With 1.9 million members and what seems to also be a very large portion of lurkers, there's something to be said for the power of organization and taking this movement offline and into the streets.
Is it reasonable to say that this subreddit should also include protest organization throughout the upcoming summer months? The sheer power of our collective thinking can move mountains when it comes to personal workplace situations, but what about bringing this idea of organized labour into the streets like is needed? Worker's rights are human rights, as we've long-ago agreed on and concluded. So…
Do you think that r/antiwork will just remain as a place for people to complain and comment and generate outrage, or is there a way to FUNNEL that rage and willpower into something that can be used as a resource/tool for these ideas to spread even further?
Will you be protesting this summer, and if so, what will you be protesting in support of? I know r/antiwork is FAR MORE than just worker's rights – it includes ALL forms of protest such as women's reproductive rights and so on. This subreddit could be used for mass protest planning and I think it should be. r/antiwork now encompasses a lot of human rights issues and I think it is only natural (and proper) to start making our voices heard more than they are now.
What's your plan for activism this summer, and do you support taking r/antiwork offline?
