I’m helping a family friend’s kid find another job. They are 17 and have been working cashier/customer service jobs since 14. The Targets in our city have signs everywhere basically saying they are desperate for cashiers.
So last night we go online to apply. First, input all prior work experience (30 minutes), then applicants are required to watch a series of videos (60 minutes), then a test matching up barcodes (20 minutes), another test with customer service scenarios (20 minutes), and last a personality test (20 minutes).
We go through all that and an hour later receive a text that they are not moving on to the next round of hiring. Unbelievable.
This is a straight A student, responsible, with experience, who wants to work!
Guess they aren’t truly having trouble finding people to work.
