I work in veterinary medicine working with exotics pets. I have been working in a horribly toxic environment for the past 2 years. I was being payed ~ok~ there which is why I stayed as long as I did. One of my favorite doctors decided to move to a different practice and wanted to take me with her. I was ecstatic. Everything about the new practice seemed great… until they told me how much theyd pay me. I still took the job because of how awful my current work environment is, but I can’t stop dwelling on why they wouldn’t value me especially with another doctors recommendation. The even sadder part is all the interviews I had before this low balled me even more than this place. I’m so sick of being undervalued. I have years of experience in this field, not just working with cats and dogs but with birds, reptiles, amphibians, and more. What does it take to be valued in this world?
