Phone rules in businesses need to change significantly
I don’t know if this is ok here, but so many jobs have unnecessary phone rules. “yOuR nOT pAId tO bE oN YOur phONe” is so stupid. Employers and managers will be on your ass because you’re not 100% towards you repetitive ass job that doesn’t even pay a living wage. Now in cases where you’re driving a work vehicle and need to be focused that is exceptional. But most jobs simply give you shit just because you’re on your phone, and then managers or the employer/s will go ahead and do the thing they’ll punish or fire you for, is hypocritical bullshit.
I work at the airport and work in a section where bags come down a conveyer system and your job is to put the bag in a cart. One cart can fit 50 bags but 50 bags doesn’t come all at once. Sometimes bags come every 10-30 minutes. And they get mad for you using your phone to wait.(you have no choice to play the wait game). And I’ll note you using your phone wouldn’t be unsafe and it takes a few seconds to get up and put the bag or bags in the cart.
