Placed on supervision for not going the extra mile

So today I had to attend a supervisory meeting at my place of work on my day off where I got chewed out because it seems I think it’s enough to ‘just show up, do my job and go home’. Imagine that. Hearing this kind of thing a lot now. The normalisation of running yourself into the ground for no extra benefit. I work in the care industry, which has been stretched to dangerous through corporate profiteering. They’ve made no adjustments to department budgets despite the cost of living increases, while they continue to pay like shit. They rely constantly on local authority subsidies to enable people to actually pay their extortionate rates. We got hung out to dry during the pandemic and they’ve already told us we won’t get paid if we get covid again. Now this. So sick of this shit, but I’d the grass greener anywhere else?
