Because people acted stupid prior to my coming to this company, there is a rule that we are not allowed to take ourselves out of the phone queue the first and last hour ago of our shift. I got really sick last week and needed strong antibiotics. Sorry for the TMI but it gives me diarrhea.
Yesterday was my first day back in the office. My body decided 11 minutes in we needed to use the bathroom NOW. 45 mins later, off I go again. When I came back, I stuck my head in my supervisors office to let her know what was going on and why I wasn't in “adherence”. I was told if I intended to have diarrhea again the next few days, I need to bring a doctor's note. To take a shit!!!
Due to privacy laws, Dr would only write a note stating I was seen. The only way for me to prove my need to urgently shit is indeed, a medical need, is to provide a copy of my prescription and the side effects to prove I was on it. I feel like this is too much to ask of me. Nonetheless here we are. And they wonder why people don't want to work. I'm pretty sure we are crossing a legal boundary here but don't know what else to do.
