I have been slogging my ass off at my current role that I studied and worked hard to get.
I’m in sales and I’m done with my 2022 targets. It’s April and whatever I do till the end of the year will count as achieving over my targets. I get paid ~7% bonus for that. It’s adds up to ~$2300 in bonus. The company has been nothing but great to me thanks to the leadership.
My references are getting checked by the new job that I’ve interviewed for. It’s also sales. The job is a direct hike from where I am. It pays more and I’m confident that it will help me shape my future. It’s commission + base with uncapped commission.
My problem is that I’m somebody who has changed their jobs quite so often. Not because of anything else other than boredom and most recently, I’ve just felt that I deserve more for the effort that I’m putting in. I spoke to my parents who asked me to, “become more stable in life”.
Am I falling in the entire, “what will the society think” trap?
