I'm a manager who browses this sub on a frequent basis. I know my company likes to give low ball offers to new college graduates. We use recruiters for hiring and right now I'm struggling to get new hires. I was able to show market research and recruitment feedback to my boss (CEO) that we are well below market rate and that local colleges are telling the new graduates to not accept below a certain dollar amount. I was able to leverage higher raises (well above inflation rate) for my whole team and I unexpectedly got a raise as well.
For some of the downsides of my company there's the other part that's good.
It's a small drop in the bucket for a win but it's something.
