First real job. I seriously cannot believe this job is not automated yet. Don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of scenarios which require complex human decision making, but the rest just feels like they should be automated a long time ago.
So the workflow is basically this. Being assigned an action. Gather documents from different places (websites, internal share drives, gov websites…), store the documents, send emails to different people for confirmation with attached docs(template mail), save the emails, make comments (only human part), resend, awaits confirmation from other people, then send a finalized email. That's it.
Here's my delimma. All the websites and apps that are required for the job are on the company monitored PC. You can't even access most of them from an outside network. The websites are basically internal databases.
Obviously most actions can be automated by scripts, but the company has very strict guidelines and I guess that's why they insisted on having real people doing these thing. So what are the possibilities of me automating these process? I honestly felt disappointed with the society and tech that we haven't automated these work yet. I can already see losing the job with in a few years when they finally catch up. I only intend to stay about a year or two anyways, and I kinda feel like if I could actually automate these tasks it would be so much better career wise for myself. So what are the possibilities?
