My son- (25M) has been looking for full time work since November when his seasonal job ended. Has an English degree from WVU- I know- he knows- almost waste of paper and lots of cash. Applies for a posted full time job with the USPS. Gets email with “job offer.” Passes background check, drivers history etc…. Goes to be fingerprinted today. Guy in charge there says yeah- don’t give up your current job yet because it can take up to two months to get officially hired, and btw- it might say full time but it’s really 7 days a week/4 hours a day. No guaranteed hours, no uniform for at least three months and you can expect to be on a different route almost every day. Oh and you use your own car to get wherever you are assigned. He was floored because he rightfully assumed it would be in a crappy location and even crappy hours but WTF? So frustrated because he has applied to dozens and dozens of places and hears nothing. The other place he had a great interview, hiring guy gave him his personal cell, as did the other interviewer, lots of positive feedback, ghosted him entirely. If one more person says to either of us- everyone is hiring- why aren’t you working yet-we May smash their face. Rant over.
