I’m an environmental consultant. I do mainly public health for mold, asbestos, lead, overall indoor air quality, etc…
Currently, I’m at an engineering firm who has a contract with a client they shouldn’t. There’s a huge difference between environmental consulting, and engineering. Their remediation efforts are ridiculous, and a lot of times not even in line with local state jurisdictions.
(They think I’m an idiot, too.)
One of our national clients is in Florida. On the call yesterday, one of the higher ups said (regarding the hurricane), “Pray for property damage.”
I understand that these firms are in it for money, but to be so blatantly obvious about it just really pissed me off. They disgust me.
And they’re all the same. I did a lot of post fire work in California before I moved back to the east coast. It’s devastating to see these people who’ve lost everything.
I’m in this 6 years now. My experience is from New York City to Los Angeles.. I can’t wait to get back to California full time but regardless I need to find something new to do with my experience.
These engineering firms/environmental consulting places are disgusting.
