Thanks to inflation, pretty much everything is a LOT more expensive now than last year, including basic staples necessary to survive. However, I noticed yesterday that a lot of the stores that used to advertise $15-19/hr as a starting wage still have “Help wanted! Apply within!” signs up but their starting pay is $13/hr. I hope this is just a few places around me and not the case elsewhere but regardless, that is messed up.
