I work for a large property management company in the midwest. This is my rant.
We provide a 15% discount on rent for our employees, as well as pay all utilities for our employees. We have several employees that can't pay their rent because of all the inflation. I'm sure some of them are in a financial mess of their own making but the majority of them are doing the same as everyone else, just trying to make enough to pay their bills. If you can't even pay your own employees enough to pay the rent with a discount and other household bills being taken care of, clearly you are not paying your employees enough.
This is my first holiday season with the company and just received word that they want us to pitch in on a gift for a couple of the higher ups including our CEO. Quite a few of us were thrown off by this. I find it odd that the people who make the most at this company need all of us to put up money we don't have during a time when we are all shelling out extra above and beyond our bills.
Also, not too long ago I found out that several of the people that work for the company have been asked to put business expenses on their personal cards and get reimbursed through the company. Why are people being asked to put business expenses on their personal cards when they can't even pay their rent?
End of rant, for now…
