Prospective job told me I might not get paid as much until I have my bachelor’s?

Hey friends, So I got a soft offer from my dream job recently (YAY). Basically they said they would love to offer me the job and I have a meeting set up on Tuesday to talk details of the job offer. My dilemma is this: one of the job posting requirements was a bachelor's degree. I have over 2 years of experience with this kind of work, and because I've been working full-time with a part-time job as well, I'm only able to do 2-3 classes a semester. Hey friends,

So I got a soft offer from my dream job recently (YAY). I emailed them about this asking if they could be flexible about that requirement, and they said “I can absolutely be flexible, but if you actually started before having the BA, I might not be able to pay at the same salary until you had it.”

This didn't deter me from applying, considering my current work environment is incredibly toxic and I need out. Now that I've got the job offer almost, I'm wondering how I might be able to negotiate appropriate pay for my experience level? I will be finishing my degree in 6 months, I just don't want this to hold me back from getting paid appropriately. How can I negotiate this? I'm worried if I push too hard, they'll rescind the offer. I know there are other jobs out there but I'm really really really ready to dump my current one ASAP, and this new job would be incredible experience.
