I've seen many entry level jobs which pay decent offer sign on bonuses up to $5,000. Most of these jobs require you to sign retention papers that require you to work at least a year (or more) or pay the bonus back.
My friend is stuck in a job until November because they signed for a $5,000 retention bonus that was heavily taxed. Before you sign, ask yourself: is an entire year of my life and value to society worth 5k before taxes?
