Pto one hour denied.

I literally notified my company in the month of March about taking 11/7 off. A whole 8 months notice. I found out today that they only approved 6.5 hours of it , and said I have to work an hour that day Becuase there isn’t enough “available off hours” for the department to approve the whole day. This is absolute bullcrap and I know most companies just need notice well enough in advance. It’s not asking for permission to take the day, it’s advising and I have plenty of PTO time saved . They just only authorize PTO only 2-3 ppl a day of the company and on Mondays they authorize 1.5 ppl which is why I got denied an hour and have to come in. I could just call off – that day and take the whole day- but instead I went the high road , 8 months ago, requested it- got it ALMOST approved – and now have to work 1 hour of my 8 hour shift.

Yes it’s only an hour but if it’s only an hour- with 8 months notice, the system of allowable PTo hours to a whole department is stupid af.
