I'm not going to name the company I work for because I live in an at will state and I, unfortunately, need this job.
I just found out, after working here a few years, that my company has a PTO policy in place where if we call out on a day for any reason they will pull from our PTO to cover that time off. BUT we still get an attendance occurrence and they will take days you already have approved off.
I just found this out because I had to call out and I was informed they were taking a day from my already planned and approved Christmas vacation.
I was also informed that I may still get that day off it would just be unpaid but since it's unpaid that would be another occurrence.
