Put in my 2 weeks notice because I had found another job that was closer and had slightly better pay. I was offered a new position in the company I work for with much better pay and work from home, 1 month later and that job is “eliminated” and I’m told I have to go back to my old position.

I just need to vent, I put my 2 weeks notice in because I found a job closer with better pay. I wasn’t extremely happy with it so I entertained my old company’s offer for a new position. After waiting till literally 2 days before I was to start at the new company, they came back with what appeared to be a dream job, better pay, work from home, advancing my career. The day I start my new job, the hiring manager was let go, then 2 weeks later his boss was let go. I never got any work in my new position, still had to go in and handle my old. 1 month later, I’m told because of reorganization, my new position is going away and I have to go back to my old position at the old pay. Then they came back and told me to apply to a new position and as soon as I do and they tell me they are bringing me onboard for it, they pull that job because “we actually needed a different position you’re not qualified for.” Now everyone tells me “at least you have a job still” which just infuriates me. As soon as I can, I’m getting out of here and never looking back.
