Finally getting to leave my job after these last 2 years feels AMAZING! I work for a major paint company as a sales rep in a big metro city. I’m the only person on my team with a bachelors degree and I’m fluent in Spanish (which is a big plus in this industry). I was placed in a high traffic, high budget location where bonuses are nearly impossible to hit, while newly hired reps get to choose where they go and have learned how to cheat the system. They pick stores with half the budget of mine and coast to easy bonuses and praise from my boss.
SN: my boss plays softball and his last 3 hires are his buddies with no paint experience, no additional language, and not even an associates degree! The culture here is very toxic since he lets his friends get away with murder yet calls the rest of the team out at any opportunity.
Reached my breaking point when I learned of the new hires starting pay which is $3/hr more than me! Asked my boss for a raise (respectfully) which he declined due to not reaching bonus. Well I secured a new job paying me $20k more and I couldn’t be happier. Currently playing out what I’m going to tell him in my head. Do I keep it short and sweet? Or do I hit him with a “What’s up my guy just wanna let you know I’m putting my notice in”
He’s Italian so he says “my guy” a lot 🤌
