I no longer work there so no worries about me getting fired.
It’s been nearly two years since I quit so I thought I’d share my tid bit.
Worked at QFC for three years and never got a raise, they never even mentioned giving me one.
I found out that they never formally changed my title from courtesy clerk in the system.
I worked in bakery, the Starbucks kiosk, floral and courtesy.
Bakery is the hardest department in the store, I should’ve been paid triple for all the shit I did for that department.
We were understaffed everyday (only had three people employed for the bakery) and I never got trained properly, they gave me three hours of training by an employee they fired two days later.
They gave me 8 hours of work to do in 5 hours and my manager told me that he knows it’s not enough time but he wants it done anyways and I need to be running through the store to get it done.
When the store manager asked me what he could do to help me succeed I asked for more training and he told me that they just couldn’t do that and I’d have to think of something else or just deal with it.
The freezer was overcrowded and you could barely walk in without having to move 20 uboats and create a thin path to the bakery items, and sometimes the items you need would be too blocked off and I’d have to climb the pallets like Mt Everest to get what I needed.
And the closing manager thought it was funny to shut the freezer door while I was in there and let the fan turn on and the lights turn off for a few minutes every damn night.
Cap never matched up with allocation, I always needed to pull about 3 carts full of product from the freezer.
I would make the amount that cap pulled up and have them cooked and put out but they would all sell out by the time morning came and then I would get scolded for not making enough. But then I’d make more to make up for the ones being sold overnight and if they didn’t sell as well as usual I’d get yelled at for making too much and wasting product.
They wanted 20 different types of cookies baked, 12 boxes of each type, and the oven only had three racks.
They wanted 60+ pans washed every single night and we had no dishwasher so I had to do each one by hand.
They wanted a second and third bread bake.
Everything had to be fully stocked by the time I left.
I never got to take my break or lunch, and they knew it and still told me I needed to be going faster and running through the store.
They told me to run, literally run. I couldn’t even go to the bathroom.
They tried to make me miss my highschool graduation ceremony, My manager told me that it would get cancelled anyways (It didn’t) and when I asked him if he would say this to his own kid this mf said he would be realistic with his child.
They made me miss my highschool graduation drive by parade to come in and take in Graduation cake orders for other graduates.
I was really depressed at that time and accidentally lost an order and when I came in a couple days later they pulled me into the office to yell at me and tell me a teen and her mom came in for a graduation cake they had ordered and it wasn’t there, they said the teen started crying and they gave her a free cake.
I honestly didn’t care and I still don’t, they didn’t give a fuck about me graduating.
I was taking cake orders and serving graduation cakes when I should’ve been celebrating my graduation too.
I was struggling with homelessness at the time and couldn’t afford to quit and they knew it.
They trapped me into the bakery position, I offered to HELP in bakery for a couple shifts when someone left because I was just being nice then these motherfuckers told me they were switching me to bakery full time and I couldn’t get my spot in the Starbucks kiosk back because they hired a new girl.
I can truly say I hate just about everybody in management in that store.
I had to do everything on my own in that department.
