Question about “quiet quitting”

Curious folk’s thoughts on this, I understand concept of “quiet quitting”, as refusing to “do more” or “things outside of your job description” and that makes sense to me broadly. My question is, how does one go about “quiet quitting” while still looking to increase their pay or move to the next level? The reason I ask is, every job I’ve had, to get a substantial raise or promotion you need to “know more” or “perform at the next level”. And perhaps “quiet quitting” is / should be reserved for folks who don’t have / don’t want upward mobility, thoughts? Hope this doesn’t sound like boot licking, just been thinking about how to apply this to my own situation. And before folks stalk my post history and see I’m a high earner, I am a high earner, mid 200’s USD for what it’s worth. Also, strong believer that our minimum…

Hope this doesn’t sound like boot licking, just been thinking about how to apply this to my own situation. Also, strong believer that our minimum wage / work conditions even in the best of circumstances is shit.

That all said, roast away if that’s what feels appropriate.
