Question about quitting after parental leave

Hi, all, I wanted to get your thoughts. My parental leave is almost over and I’m getting anxious about starting work again. Mainly because 1) I am worried about leaving my SO—who is full time WFH—with the baby for a couple days while I’m at the office during the day and 2) being able to balance caring for the baby while I/we WFH.

I’m heavily involved in two big projects that i know they want me to lead when I get back. I feel bad for wanting to put in my notice after getting back from leave but I’ve put in several years of work and I feel like I’ve done my time.

We’re not ready for sending the baby to day care and the prices are +$2,000/month. Thus, if I quit, I get to be the say at home parent!

With this situation, when would y’all put in your notice? If you’ve had a similar situation, what did you do?

TYSM to this lovely community, and fuck this society that makes you choose between laboring so you can eat Vs spending time to raise your kids.
