hi antiwork – i need some assistance from someone that actually knows what they’re talking about, because i sure as hell don’t.
i’m the store manager at a pizza hut in ohio. i’ve noticed recently that my driver is having everything she makes in credit card tips taken from her paychecks. i’ve done the math and the tips (300-400 per check) are absolutely being subtracted from her net pay. they’re listed as cash tips, despite most definitely being on credit card. i’ve asked about it, and i’ve been told that they aren’t actually keeping their pay – it just needs to be accounted for so it can be taxed. i know for a fact that this money is being taken out, though. are they going to pay the remainder back with their tax returns? or am i being lied to?
