Question people that are in the maintenance field of work

What pay is ideal for the people that are in the maintenance job field ? I am definitely not getting paid what I feel like I am worth. And I’d like to know what other maintenance techs are getting paid. By maintenance tech I mean people who work in apartment/ nursing home facility’s doing all around maintenace work
