Like the Dolly Parton song. Was that real? 9 to 5 is eight hours. Does that mean people were paid during their lunch hour? At my office, it’s 9 to 6:30 with the assumption you’re at lunch for 1.5 hours. (Almost as a rule everybody works through it, lunch at desk while working) Hearing about the song, I wonder if there was a time when that was different at office jobs.
